Scholarship
REBECCA FOY
Parent-employee: George Foy, Grade A Markets
As a scholar at Brookfield High School, Rebecca has been the recipient
of Out-standing Achievement awards in Humanities and numerous Honors
courses. She is a member of the National Honor Society and Spanish
Honor Society, and was a candidate for "Leaders of Tomorrow"
WCBS-TV program. She was a recipient of the Wellesley Book Award and
is listed in Who's Who Among American High School Students.
As an athlete, she has received Southwestern Conference honors including
"All-Conference Academic Team" and "Student-Athlete
Day Award," has been a member of varsity soccer, basketball,
and lacrosse teams, and participated in the World Scholar Athlete
Games in Rhode Island.
Rebecca is also a member of the Big Brother-Big Sister program and
peer counseling at her high school, and is active in community service,
including volunteering at the Special Olympics and as a lacrosse referee
in Brookfield.
She will be attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
ALICIA PIAZZA

Alicia graduated from F.T. Maloney High School with High Honors.
She is a member of the National Honors Society and National Latin
Honors Society, served as co-class secretary and as secretary of
FBLA. She was a member of Youth and Government, student council,
and the yearbook committee.
She has served over 130 hours of community service through serving
as a mentor and a volunteer camp counselor for the handicapped.
She is also active in community service functions through the Key
Club and her church.
Alicia will be a freshman at the University of Rhode Island in the
fall, where she plans to major in political science.

Stacey will be entering the University of Connecticut as a freshman
this fall. She graduated from Norwich Free Academy and plans to
major in general studies.

VINCENT CAVALIERE
Parent-employee: Pamela Cavaliere
Vincent will be matriculating at Drew University this fall as a
freshman, where he plans to major in chemistry.
He graduated from East Hartford High School where he was a Chemistry
Olympiad finalist, and a member of the swim team all 4 years of
high school. He was Captain of the swim team his senior year. He
was a member of START Retreat. Vincent was also a member of the
marching band and was a drum major, receiving the John Philip Sousa
Band Award and the U.S. Marine Corps Distinguished Athlete Award.

Nicholas will be a junior at Worcester Polytechnic Institute where
he is majoring in computer science. He graduated from Berlin High
School, served as an Eagle Scout, and placed first in Robotics from
1997-2002. He is a repeat scholarship recipient.

Allison will be a sophomore at the University of Connecticut, where
she plans to major in secondary education. She is a graduate of
Berlin High School.

As a junior at George Washington University, Orisia is majoring
in international affairs. She is a graduate of Berlin High School.

Sean will be a junior at Norwalk Community College majoring in business.
He graduated from New Canaan High School where he was on the honor
roll for most of high school and was very active in the New Canaan
High football program.
